Smarter Than You Think: How Technology Is Changing Our Minds for the Better-Adam Carney

I went onto Amazon and was able to find, The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress, and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies, Smarter Than You Think: How Technology Is Changing Our Minds for the Better, and Alone Together: Why We Expect More from Technology and Less from Each Other. All of the books were very intriguing in that they all talked about our information society and how it is so technologically based. All of the books were around 300 pages or so and 10-20 dollars. Smarter than you Think had the most reviews, and was most popular on the Library Thing. People said it was interesting to hear a different side of technological advance rather than the pessimistic side of it. Alone Together had the worst of the reviews, but still was very well rated. The only problem was that many people thought the first part of the book wasn’t very good, however the second part was very intriguing and intuitive. Smarter than you Think really seemed to stand out to me because I have been looking for a book that does not bash our world’s technological advances. This book was reviewed by Choice and got a very good review. It really dug deep into the valid points made by the author. KD Winward reviewed this book and is a very well renowned book reviewer. This book should hopefully prove to me the benefits of our technology and how it will continue to grow and develop not just as technology, but help develop human minds as well.

  1. This was one of the books I first encountered when doing my search. It seemed like an interesting read and I considered it as one of my choices originally.
